Baby Shower Help

I'm throwing a baby shower next week for a friend from church. I've noticed lately that the trend seems to be, no games at baby showers. I personally love games, no matter how dumb they are. What is everyone's opinions on games vs. no games at baby showers???

Personally I hate them.

I hate baby shower games. At the shower my friends gave me when I was pregnant with Moira there were no games - just lots of visiting and yummy food. For me, it was perfect!!! My advice would be to get the mommy-to-be's input. If she likes them, go for it. If not, save yourself some work and skip 'em!

I love them and a party isn't a party with out them!!!! I don't know if you have ever heard of the candy bar one or not but it is always a hit! Let me know if you haven't heard of it and I can fill you in!

You know me...not a game girl, especially dumb baby/wedding shower games. I agree with Debbie though, ask the mommy-to-be what she wants and do that. I love the open house format where you drop in, chat, eat, leave.

Good luck!!

I'm kinda both ways, maybe a really good game, not corny and then lots of visiting to counteract the game. Or maybe do something fun for the mom, like a bad baby advice book (everyone writes down some advice that was given to them that was horrible) or the opposite and have everyone tell the mom something that has saved them in times of desperation like oragel. good luck!

I think a quick game or two is fun - as long as they don't take too long and there's still plenty of time for visiting.

I am personally all about baby shower games. I play them at home sometimes by myself.

I don't mind them but I hardly ever play because I am too busy talking which usually irritates the person conducting the game. But I do like when I win something and I wasn't really paying attention.
